Our Cruise Overall Reviews

These are our opinions only, and only for our experiences on the ships. (updated 10 March 2024)

I was going to put the best and the worst, but decided to leave it at the best. I haven't listed staff, as ALL the staff on ships today are great. The same can't be said of Call Centres, we have yet to find a good call centre for any of the cruise lines.

Best So Far:

Overall Cruise Ship: Celebrity Solstice (2016) and Radiance of the Seas (2017)

Cabins: Royal Caribbean and Celebrity

Best Reward Regonition: Royal Caribbean

Overall Main Dining Room Food: Coral Princess, Royal ships. Sadly P&O Aust ships changed their menus in 2023 - food and choices not very good anymore.

Main Dining Room Breakfast: Use to be P&O ships, but they reduced their menu and started charging for eggs Benedict and side. Sadly no cruise line that we have been on is better than the buffet breakfast now.

Main Dining Room Lunch: Royal ships

Main Dining Room Dinner: Coral Princess

Overall Buffet Food: Coral Princess, Royal ships and Celebrity Solstice

Buffet Breakfast: Royal ships

Buffet Lunch: Royal ships

Buffet Dinner: Celebrity Solstice, Coral Princess

Ship Decor: Royal Ships, but really all the ships have unique decor

Drink Consistency: Coral Princess

Enforcement of ship rules: Luminosa

e.g. enforcement of adults area for adults; intoxicated passengers monitored; dress codes etc.

Dining Attire Enforcement: Coral Princess, although the clientele are more mature and sensible.

Triva and Games: Carnival Luminosa

Production Shows: Royal Caribbean

Variety of Entertainment: Quantum of the Seas

Enrichment Programmes: Sadly our best enrichment activities were on Celebrity Soltice back in 2016. Carnival Luminosa had some good talks in 2023, and Royal Caribbean Quantum had great talks way back in 2022 but nothing since.

Pools: Quantum Class ships

Pool Deck Seating: Quantum Class ships

Theatre: Quantum Class ships

Some more free food choices

Best Hamburgers: Carnival Luminosa

Best Pizza: Royal Caribbean ships

Best Free Hot Drinks: Royal Caribbean - more choices.

Best Hot Chocolate: Carnival Luminosa

Best Icecream: Carnival Luminosa
