Voyager of the Seas Interior - Promenade View Cabins 7289 and 7275

We wanted to try an interior promenade view room, but as they only accommodate two people we had to book two rooms. We chose deck 7 because we thought deck 6 may have been too noisy, and deck 8 may have been to high to view the parades and dance parties. We gave Jonnie the room closer to the bridge stage, cabin 7275, as we thought if it was super noisy (being next to the stage) he would not hear it - as he is profoundly deaf. We watched one dance party and could hear the music, but it was not very loud at all.

Our cabin, 7289 was 6 doors down from Jon's. The only difference was the direction of the bed.

There was noise from the promenade, but it was so soft it was often not even noticeable. As there is no natural light, and with the curtains very slightly open (our choice), a sliver of light was visible all night. We knew it was morning if we woke up and could hear the soft beat of the promenade music. The music started about 8am on sea days, and about 7am on port days. In the evenings we didn't notice the music, even on party nights if we were in the cabin watching TV.

Everything worked well. The hot water was hot, the air-con was good, the cooler/fridge could have been a little colder.

The muster station was B9, located on deck 4 on the outside deck.

We enjoyed the room, maybe because there was only the two of us. It seemed bigger than an interior room and a window cabin, and was almost as big as a balcony room.

We were situated right in the middle of the ship, both vertically and horizontally. However, it was rocky at times so maybe the waves were big. We are use to cabins forward and aft and expect the movement, but not in the middle.

Would we choose that type of room again? Yes, but only if we have a group of two or four. Paying double fare for a single room will not be the norm.

Quantum of the Seas - Virtual Interior Cabin 8703

We wanted to try a virtual balcony cabin, so chose a 3 nighter to no-where on Quantum. The view was great and was exactly what was outside at the time. I chose the cabin, and technically we were starboard side so our view was starboard.

The cabin is pretty much the same as balcony cabins except that both the wardrobes are narrower than a balcony cabin, making the cabin smaller, but not really noticeable. I know this because my packing boxes didn't fit where they they normally do.

As usual we had a cabin for three and the lounge was the third bed. We kept the virtual balcony (screen) on day and night and at night kept the curtains open slightly so as to have light in the morning.

We missed having a balcony, but did enjoy the virtual balcony. Strangely, the cost of the room was higher than we would pay for a balcony, in fact of the four cruises on Quantum this year it was the most expensive per day, and the other cruises were in a balcony cabin, but we wanted to try a virtual balcony before Quantum left Australia.
