San Francisco InterContinental

We left Calgary on 2nd July and flew to San Francisco.
The hotel was booked by our travel agent, as at that time I was totally bogged down with work.
I would have preferred somewhere closer to the water and Fisherman's Wharf, like last time we were here, but the hotel was wonderful, expensive but wonderful.
The InterContinental Union Square is located on Howard Street in the SoMa district. It is close to the Moscone Convention Centre, many restaurants, and transport.
We were close to the trams, trains, buses, and trolleys.
We were upgraded to the top floor and the views were magnificent.
As we settled in the room a mist came over the bay.
It moved very quickly and visibility became zero.
The hotel was very luxurious and the staff so helpful and friendly.
This piano is in the foyer under the stairs. I don't know if it ever gets played, we didn't see it played our 4 days there.
(not a good picture - sorry)
The foyer is huge.
The hotel from 5th Street.
 The hotel from Howard Street.
Our room is at the top on the left.
One of the views from our room.
We were in San Francisco for American Independence Day.
We spent the day on the hop on hop off bus (another blog entry) and walking around Fisherman's Wharf.
We went back to the hotel, had dinner in our favourite restaurant (another blog entry) and then in the room we sat and watched all the fireworks happening all over the bay.
Would we stay here again? Yes we would!
Next blog we will tell you about our San Francisco.
