Dubbo

We decided to stay two nights in Dubbo. We had planned to do some free camping at Hickey Falls but as no one else was there we decoded to keep going.
We booked into Dubbo City Holiday Park into site 93. It is a Top Tourist park and the staff were very helpful.

The only thing we didn't like about the park was the large amount of bindis every where. The facilities were clean and the sites were neither small or large. We did hear the odd truck during the night, but overall is was fairly quiet.

The first stop the next morning was the tourist information Centre.

Because the Western Plains Zoo in located in Dubbo there were a lot of hippos all over the place.  This is just outside the information Centre.

From the info centre we walked up the main street to the old Dubbo Gaol.  Cost was $15 each and we spent about two hours here. Very interesting and well worth a visit.

Next we drove to the Shoyoen Gardens at the Dubbo Botanical Gardens.  This was a surprise for Jonnie as he likes anything Asian.
There was another hippo.

Peter decided the fish were so tame he started to pat them - until they tried to bite him.

Next door was the sensory garden.
