Maclean NSW

We did a day trip to Maclean - the Scottish town in Australia.

We go to all the Op Shops to see what is available. We usually get some good bargains in Maclean.

Across from one of the Op Shops is this MacPhee pole.
All of the poles in Maclean are painted with different Scottish surnames. I'm a MacPhee.

This is one of the lovely old houses in Maclean.
Peter wanted to go to Lawrence, across the Clarence River. To get there we had to go over a bridge, and then take a car ferry to Lawrence. When we go there, there was not much. We had a drive around, and then headed for Grafton. As we left Lawrence, we found a lovely park beside the river, where we had lunch. The general store across the road had old magazines for $1, so I bought 5 quilting magazines.
As we left Lawrence, we went over a bridge and found the Sportsman Park. This is a free camping spot, and it is so beautiful. Right on the Clarence.
We followed the Grafton road to the Ulmarra Ferry, and did the circuit back to Maclean.

One of the signs in Maclean.
I do like Maclean. it has a lot of  interesting shops and some lovely old buildings.
