It is a big ship - 41.45m (136 feet) wide; 364.86m (1138 feet) long; and 8.5m (28 feet) draft. It has 16 guest decks, 16 guest elevators, and can hold up to 4,900 guests at full capacity. I didn't hear the Captain say exactly how many were on our cruise but double occupancy is 4,180 guests, so I figure in between somewhere in the 2,091 cabins. Our cabin was on Deck 7 and was an obstructed view cabin for three. I had booked a cheaper balcony cabin (obstructed-not guaranteed) and had the option to choose which cabin we wanted. I researched the cabin options and decided on this one. A balcony guarantee at the time of booking was more expensive than the obstructed balcony view price. I will say here that the price included a deluxe beverage package for the three of us (and no reduction for the fact Jonnie doesn't drink alcohol), and $US100 ($A135) on board credit. We put $A50 on Jon's card for the video arcade prior to the cruise as the special was $A50=$US50. That left us with $A85. The remainder was converted to US$ and gave us $US61.10 credit. That went towards a photo of Jonnie 'iFlying' ($US19.99) and duty free scotch.
A nice surprise was the inclusion of a kettle and tea and coffee. We have only had this on one other RC ship, Voyager of the Seas I think. We did replace the tea included with some nice Twinings tea and hot chocolate from the Windjammer each day. Also an extra cup did come by the evening.
The bathroom was compact as on other ships, and very functional. The shower was the best we have had on a cruise ship so far.
As you can see the 'obstruction' was not really an issue as it only blocked the view if looking down. This lounge became Jonnie's bed 'magically' each night.
There was plenty of cupboard space and the room was very quiet except for mornings when we heard so many toilets flush. Our room attendant Yuon was very good, especially with Jonnie. Anything we asked for he got. A perfectly good room, a perfectly great cruise!
