Port Elliott & Victor Harbour

We left the Barossa and drove through the Adelaide Hills to Port Elliot. It was a lovely drive along some winding roads and it was fine towing the van. We had intended to stop at Hahndorf but it was a Sunday and there were so many people and the street's were narrow. We will do a day trip from Adelaide without the van.

The view was wonderful. The caravan park is at the end of the road just outside of Port Elliot. It is large and clean with one of the best camp kitchens. We have noticed that caravan parks are now providing really good camp kitchens. BUT it is the view that is worth coming back for.

We spent the afternoon just relaxing.

The next day we drove to Goolwa. There was a mixture of old and new buildings. I loved these beach houses.

Peter and Jonnie walked down to the edge of the lagoon.

This is where the Murray meets the sea.
THE MURRAY MOUTH.

We headed to Victor Harbor for lunch on the pier.

There was a gift shop adjoining the cafe with some interesting but overpriced gifts.

We didn't walk all the way down the pier to the island 😊

There was a horse drawn carriage that took one to the island and back, but we missed one and didn't want to wait for the next one.

So back to Port Elliot.

This was the view of our van from across the bay.

We had a great time and a perfect view. We'll be back.

Jonnie helping with dinner.

Happy travels
Allison
